“Mort and Millie” is an animated science and nature preschool series about something very special... DEATH! Like, WOAH. We said it! Death. Twice now! Who wants to talk about THAT?! Well, actually a lot of kids do. (No, really! We asked them!) But just how do we talk to them about it? Well, we’ve got some very unique characters to help with that: Mort (a Grim Sweeper, which is a Grim Reaper but with a broom) and Millie (a millipede, which is essentially nature’s custodian). You might know them from the title of the show!

Together, they meet death head on by taking on a very important job: cleaning up dead creatures! Now, I know, you might not be convinced juuuust yet; death sure can seem like a very big, very scary thing, but not if we talk about it together. And our two besties Mort and Millie LOVE talking about their job, and how their favourite thing to do is to make the journey that is death into a lovely one by helping make a creature’s last wish come true.

Like... a jellyfish wishing to ride in its favourite ocean current one last time, or a cicada wishing to return to where it had its best nap, or even a slime mold wishing to... fly again?! Just how does THAT work? Well, you need two very different thinkers to figure it out: Mort the eager dreamer who follows his heart, and Millie the by-the-book planner who follows her brain. After all, it takes two to make a wish come true! Mort and Millie’s adventures teach kids about the weirdness of life, death, and the natural world in a way that isn't icky; it just sticks with you.
