Art Director – 2D Animated Series

Location: Remote role but must be based in Northern Ireland

Flickerpix are seeking a talented Art Director to lead the artistic direction of our new 2D animated series. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the 2D animation pipeline and the ability to inspire and guide a team of artists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with Series Director to develop and execute the overall visual style and artistic vision for the animated series.

• Collaborate with other departments to create compelling character designs, backgrounds, and environments.

• Oversee the art team, providing guidance and constructive feedback to ensure consistency and quality across all visual elements.

• Establish and maintain design guidelines, colour palettes, and visual themes throughout production.

• Conduct regular reviews and presentations to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and overseeing revisions on designs as needed.

• Stay current with industry trends and technologies to continually elevate the project’s artistic quality.

Ideal Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience working in a studio environment and on long form series.

• Strong portfolio showcasing character design, environment design, and a variety of visual styles.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative approach to creative work.

• Passion for storytelling and a keen eye for detail.
