Life of Riley

Riley, a reclusive dog living next to a holiday park, spends is days lazing with his elderly owner, Nora. When Nora’s health prevents her from caring for Riley, she puts him up for adoption. But an unlikely bond forms during the school holidays when 6-year-old Ellie arrives in the holiday park, and Riley discovers a new purpose.

Riley is a lazy old dog who lives with his elderly owner Nora in her little caravan right next to a holiday park, separated only by a hedge. Riley spends his days relaxing around Nora’s garden, slumped on the roundabout in the adjacent play park or lying under the slide in the shade.

The truth is, Nora isn’t physically able to give poor old Riley the attention he needs anymore. She has a bad back and can’t go for long walks with him or play fetch with his favourite red ball in the way that she used to. When she feebly throws it, Riley just ignores it.

Nora has recognised this and as a result, she has put Riley up for adoption on the website of the local pet rescue centre. The trouble is, Riley’s post on the site isn’t receiving any attention. No comments or hearts, not even a ‘like’. Nora’s honest description probably doesn’t help…
