Malaria film to feature at World Cup Finale Concert

We’re pleased to tell you that our short film about malaria, commissioned by Comic Relief in 2009, will be played at the FIFA Celebrations in South Africa on the 9th July.

This concert will take place at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg in front of more than 20,000 people and be broadcast live around the world.

The Concert will add to the lasting legacy of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the first held on African soil, by generating further support and awareness in the fight against malaria – a preventable and treatable disease that takes the life of an African child every 30 seconds.

The Concert will feature Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and special guests including Bryan Adams, and South Africa’s own soprano sensation, Pretty Yende. The celebrations will raise awareness for United Against Malaria – a partnership of football teams and players, celebrities, health and advocacy organizations, governments, corporations, and individuals who met ahead of the 2010 World Cup to build support to reach the international target of reducing malaria deaths to near zero by 2015.

Malaria, our 3 minute film was commissioned by Comic Relief and was written by Richard Curtis and narrated by Martin Freeman.
