Be sure to catch the time-lapse stings we created for “That Paralympics Show” every Saturday at 1.20pm, on Channel 4. The stings star the programs presenter, Ade Adepitan in miniaturised silicon form, performing various basketball tricks whilst a graffiti mural is created behind him by the Belfast artist, FRIZ, depicting various paralympic sports.

Flickerpix Animations are currently looking for freelance Photoshop artists, asset preppers and After Effects animators to work with them throughout May on animated sequences for a new CBBC program which mixes live action comedy with animation. Artists can work either remotely or in-house, experience in either Adobe Photoshop or After Effects is a must.

We are very proud to announce that our Old Harry’s Game Pilot has been selected as one of the films in the Northwest Animation Festival 2012 in the good old USA!

“The 2012 Northwest Animation Festival showcases nearly 60 short films from 15 countries, representing the very best of contemporary animation.”

Old Harry’s Game is a Stop motion animation, based on the popular BBC Radio 4 show, Old Harry’s Game, written and starring Andy Hamilton.

Using a unique mix of stop-motion and 2D animation, On the Air brings to life real phone calls from Gerry Anderson’s radio show. Follow Gerry and his faithful aide Sean, while they try to deal with increasingly eccentric callers.

Gerry and Sean enlist the help of Geordie the farmer for a caller whose hen is prone to blackouts.

We’re currently shooting a series of idents for Channel 4’s That Paralympics Show, featuring iconic presenter Ade Adepitan in miniaturised silicon form.
In each of these ten idents, our animated Ade puppet will perform some of his best known basketball stunts, whilst in the background, Belfast-based street artist FRIZ, whose work you can check out here, will spray paint various murals representing Paralympics sports. Everything will be shot in time-lapse photography, making the world around artists and puppet move in lightning fast pace…

These films will represent the core values of the Paralympics and offer a new quirky visual identity to C4’s coverage of the Paralympic events.

As part of the GAP – Graduates Acceleration Program for NI university graduates, Flickerpix Animations are currently looking for someone to work with us on the promotion and marketing of our upcoming short film, which is being produced with support from the Arts Council, as part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

The film will be fully animated in stop motion, using an innovative approach of shooting outdoors throughout Belfast. It will tell the story of two characters making their way through unchartered territory, through an urban landscape.

We are looking for a self-starter with bags of initiative and motivation, who can create a marketing strategy for the film, to ensure optimum exposure across all media platforms. This will include targeting of film festivals, events, and other viewing opportunities. Liaison with our partners at the Arts Council and beyond to ensure
clear communication amongst all, to ensure marketing opportunities are fully exploited. We will require someone with excellent writing skills who can work with our web designer on a regular blog site. The GAP program duration lasts for 6 months.

Jedward’s Big Adventure is on all this week on the CBBC channel at 4.30pm everyday, with all the animated sequences created by Flickerpix!

The program has the popular duo acting as tour guides at some of the UK’s most famous heritage sites. The pair compete with each other to try and see who can remember the most about history with the help of some celebrities. It’s on all this week but if you miss that, or just want to watch the first two episodes, you can catch it on the iplayer on the CBBC site.

You may remember that we announced back in July 2011 that Wee Wise Word episode Environment was doing well on the festival circuit. Well we are proud to announce that after its screening in Moscow as part of Big Cartoon Festival. Environment has been selected to be included in the festivals Best Short program and will be touring Russia from February until April this year.
