Creative Director & part time Raconteur
Joel spent his childhood reading thousands of wonderful Belgian comics and watching badly dubbed Japanese anime on French TV. Later he attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liege on a dare.
While accidently studying photography and design in England he coincidentally discovered the joys of animation, with a borrowed Super8 camera and assorted lumps of clay.
A passion was born.
Inevitably, he moved to Belfast, were he spent 2 years making “Ciderpunks”, an animated mockumentary on the local Goth scene which happened to win many awards at international animation festivals and generally nice comments.
After doing time teaching animation he established Flickerpix with an aim of producing top-notch character animation for all ages.
Joel likes nothing more than listening to old French vinyl records with a cool glass of Pinot Noir on a hot summer’s night..
Which is why he moved to Belfast.
